Daily Musings 98 “vicious cycles”

Christmas has long since become a secular holiday. It’s obvious you don’t need to be Christian or super religious to celebrate. For many, it’s a season of great consumerism and in many years past, I would’ve racked up a lot of debt. This year is different, fortunately. Despite having just bought my first home, I’m … Continue reading Daily Musings 98 “vicious cycles”

Daily Musings 96 “stopping to smell the flowers” 🌺

On this 9th last day of 2020 I give thanks for stopping to look at plants and smell flowers. Plants and flowers were a major part of my little guy and I’s year. while he was admiring and learning the names of every plant and flower we crossed paths with (seriously, we had to stop and examine almost every plant and flower that we saw during our walks and bike rides), I was finally becoming the plant parent I’d always dreamed of becoming.

Daily Musings 94 “winter solstice”

I spoke my gratitude for this years blessings out loud for the universe to hear my voice. It’s been painful and rough sometimes, but there’s a lot I’m happy and intent on leaving behind with 2020, but I won’t deny its also been beautiful.

Daily Musings 93 “potty trained”

My not so baby boy turns 3 in less than 2 weeks. When we were hit with the lockdown in March I decided I should try to potty train him. Potty training was something I’d been lowkey dreading about momming. I just couldn’t wrap my head around how you teach little people to use the potty without it being complete torture for all parties involved.Nevertheless, it was something I could no longer push to the side. The little guy and I were together, at home, all day long every day of the week.

Daily Musings 91 “teaching in 2020: a timeline”

Today is the last day of school before the break. Baby boy had to isolate for 10 days due to cold symptoms which means mama's gotta stay home. Since I've been away from my students all week, I decided to do a quick google meet with them during snack time. I'm glad I did because after the break we may be under a full lockdown again. Likely, if last spring is any indication, I won't see many of my students faces again. Not for a while, anyway.

Daily Musings 90 “staying active”

I got in two short 10 minute yoga sessions today. One in the morning for sore and tight muscles and one at night to de-stress. Baby boy joined me for the last one (he barely allowed me to do the first one 🙄), so we didn’t have to do his toddler yoga routine with Moovlee Monkey. I’m thinking we might have to start taking turns.

Daily Musings 89 “4 minutes🧘🏾‍♀️”

Lately, baby boy and I have added a four minute yoga session by Moovlee Monkey to his bedtime routine. Sometimes I’m the only one doing it, but I’m not complaining. More often than not, it’s the only movement my body does for the day, and it feels so good. It’s amazing what goodness can be packed into four minutes.

Daily Musings 86 “distance”

Today is my sisters birthday and for the first time since the move I really felt the distance. Baby boy has a runny nose, a lil cough and is sneezing like crazy. Unless he gets a Covid test, he has to isolate for 10 days before returning to daycare.
