Daily Musings 94 “winter solstice”

This year has had amplified emotional ups and downs. However, on this 11th last day of 2020 I’m feeling and acknowledging the blessings of this winter solstice and I give thanks.

Many aren’t grateful for this year, and it’s often hard for me to share in the collective misery of the masses, so I often keep my joy to myself or reserved for a select few. But as advised by Rev. Aina-Nia Ayo’dele in our Sacred Online Circle 2.0 this morning, I found myself some nature and declared my prayers to the universe.

I spoke my gratitude for this years blessings out loud for the universe to hear my voice. It’s been painful and rough sometimes, and there’s a lot I’m happy and intent on leaving behind with 2020, but I will not deny its also been beautiful.

This year has not been easy and I’m in no way trying to trivialize the turmoil. It’s been painful and rough sometimes, a lot of the time. It’s been a supreme challenge for many. But it’s also been a time to learn and grow. So I continue to count my blessings and express my gratitude for the lessons this year has provided me.

What are your 2020 blessings? (Don’t forget, some blessings come in disguise..). What are you intent on leaving behind?

Winter Solstice Blessings

May the longest night and the shortest day,

Bring rest to your mind and soul, I pray.

May you find guidance and may you find peace,

As  the cycle of light will slowly increase.

Embrace the magic that the darkness bears,

breathe deep in the chill and shift in the air.

May you always be blessed with the light from within,

And may well-being be yours as the new cycle begins
